How was your weekend?

We found out last night that Jono is a really fun ER patient after he slipped and dislocated his knee. This is a recap (not to be confused with kneecap) of my favorite moments:

After triage, they sent us to the “fast track” with a sheet of stickers that had his name, date of birth, and patient information on them. When I handed them to Jono, he said, “Why did they give me so many? Do I get stick them on whatever I want to?”

He was sad to hear they were for the doctors and nurses to use. He did ask later if he could take home any that were left over. (We did not do that.)

While waiting for his X-ray and talking about the whole incident, Jono said, “I really liked those EMTs. They were great. I would for sure use them again. Highly recommend.”

The runner up moments included Jonothan forgetting his date of birth and Jono finding a silver lining in having his jeans cut by the EMTs.

“I think Jean shorts will be super comfy. I’m excited!”

All is good, though. Kneecap is now in the right place and X-ray looked good. Isaac brought the extra tall crutches that we already had at home to the hospital, and Jono left with a knee immobilizer. Getting my 6’2” son who cannot bend his knee in the car was a challenge, but we made it through.
