All Hail the Queen

Well, the streak has been broken! We have a girl!

There might be a few people who have not heard this news. It’s unlikely, though, considering the amount of people that I tell in- person, online, or via text. I met two strangers yesterday, and before the conversation was over, they knew I had a granddaughter.

Also, some might be less familiar with our family’s abundant boy situation. I am the only girl in my immediate family, having two older brothers. I married Derek who also has two brothers, no sisters. Then together, we have three boys. All of our siblings have at least one beautiful daughter. Most of them had more than one. So, now, it is our turn. The Texas Rennerts finally have a girl!

So, back to our girl. She was born a little over a week ago. She has a beautiful name that begins with the letter E. It is not Esther, but today I was considering how that might have been an appropriate name since she has quickly risen to the status of Queen in a very short amount of time. No, really her name is perfect just like she is.

She is just beautiful. Her momma was so strong and did so well in delivery. She looks a lot like her daddy did as a baby, but I see a lot of momma in her, too.

I know it’s quite early to make any personality assessments, but she seems to be a little stubborn and a wee bit sassy. We are just not sure who she might have inherited those traits from…

Pretty much everyone she meets is pretty crazy about her, including me. I’m looking forward to telling you more about my adventures as a grandmother. For now, I will leave you with a few pictures of her with her adoring fans.
