Boys will be Joys

I had to smile and laugh just a little when I saw that our first day of school in Texas was 6 years ago today. What a difference!

First day of school 6 years ago, the sun was already up by the time we left. We had not learned that we had to leave before sunrise if we wanted to avoid being tardy.

That morning I woke up early, and I even did my hair and makeup. That was probably because I didn’t sleep the night before. I was so nervous for my kiddos to begin this journey.

As you see in today’s first day photo, Derek and I both rolled out of bed, snapped a couple of pics, and sent Jono on his way. I slept just fine last night.

Funny how different life is with your last child than it was with your first. Jono drove himself to school for the first time today, and I can’t believe it, but I forgot to follow him on life 360.

The years sure fly by, don’t they? Looking forward to what God has in store for Jono and our whole family in this coming school year.
